Types of automotive cables

Leave a message

Automotive cables are mainly divided into low-voltage cables, shielded cables, high-voltage cables, wire protectors, single-core cables, multi-core cables, charging cables, high-voltage cables, communication cables, heat dissipation cables and sensor cables.

Low-voltage cables: Widely used in automobiles, including metal wires and insulation layers, used to transmit electrical energy or signals.

Shielded cables: Designed to protect against external interference, used for radio antennas, feeder cables, ignition signal lines, oxygen sensor signal lines, etc.

High-voltage cables: Used in gasoline engine ignition systems, including a conductive core with a layer of rubber insulation to prevent high-voltage leakage.

Wire protectors: Used to cover or bundle cables, or fix them to other parts to protect the wiring harness from damage.
Single-core cables: Consists of a single wire, usually made of copper or aluminum, used to transmit electrical energy or signals, with good conductivity and wear resistance. ‌
Multi-core cable: It is composed of multiple wires and is commonly used to transmit signals and power supply. It includes an outer sheath and a shielding layer to protect the wires from damage. ‌
Charging cable: It is used to connect electric vehicles with charging piles or charging equipment to transmit power for charging. It has the characteristics of high temperature resistance, wear resistance and corrosion resistance. ‌
High-voltage cable: It is used to connect the battery pack and motor of electric vehicles to transmit high-voltage DC power. It requires high insulation performance and high temperature resistance. ‌
Communication cable: It is used to connect on-board electronic equipment to transmit vehicle information and control signals. It requires anti-interference ability and stable signal transmission performance. ‌
Cooling cable: It is used in the cooling system of electric vehicles to transmit coolant or cooling air to reduce the temperature to ensure normal operation. ‌
Sensor cable: It is used to connect various sensors in electric vehicles and requires high signal transmission accuracy and anti-interference ability. ‌
Each of these cable types has its specific uses and requirements to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the vehicle electrical system. ‌
