Types Of Household Cables

Leave a message

The types of household cables mainly include BV, BVR, RV, BVVB, and RVV.

BV (single-core copper wire): This type of wire is relatively hard, so it is often called a hard wire.
BVR (single-core wire with multiple copper wires wound together): It is formed by winding multiple copper wires together, so it is often called a soft wire.
RV (single-core wire composed of more copper wires): It is composed of more copper wires than BVR, and is also a kind of soft wire, generally used in industry.
BVVB (two to three BV wires are sheathed together): It is a kind of hard sheathed wire.
RVV (two to four RV wires are sheathed together): It is a kind of soft sheathed wire.
In home decoration, the types of wires generally selected are BV and BVR. These two types of wires are the most commonly used in daily life.
Depending on the different materials of the wire core, there are two commonly used wires: copper core wire and aluminum core wire. Copper wires have low resistivity, good conductivity, high mechanical strength, and a relatively high price; aluminum wires have a slightly higher resistivity than copper wires, and their mechanical strength is not as good as copper wires, but they are low in price and widely used12.
